JOHN EVELEIGH, the earliest known ancestor of George Simonds Eveleth, must have been born about the year 1580. He was resident of the parish of Exeter St. Thomas, which lies across the Exe from Exeter proper, and his wife was named Jane. She was buried at Exeter St. Thomas 29 March, 1627, and John was buried there also, 23 Jan., 1666/7.
